Ebay Posting Job Scam – Don’t Fall For It

I recently came across a common scam that has been circulating on Craigslist.

It looks something like this:

The scam involves creating Ebay listings and selling products using your ebay and paypal account.

The idea is for you to create the Ebay listing and once the product sells, you transfer the money to the scammers paypal account minus your cut of the profits.

The catch is, the products don’t actually exist and the scammer never ships anything out. Leaving you on the hook for reimbursing the buyer their money back.

With more and more people looking for ways to work from home and make money online, this scam is becoming increasingly popular.

If you are wondering why the job requires a Ebay account with 10 or more feedback, its because Ebay won’t place a hold on the payment with these more established accounts.

With brand new Ebay accounts (10 or less feedback), sellers don’t have access to sale profits until confirmation has been received of the item being delivered.

Since the scam involves not actually shipping any products out, this hold on the money would put a damper on the whole scheme.
