Hi, my name is Derek. I am the owner of thewealthybum.com and I make money online on autopilot, also known as ‘passive income’.
Like most people, I spent most of my life working a full time job that I absolutely couldn’t stand. The problem was I was trapped. I was making decent money, but being the father of 2 and having bills to pay forced me into staying where I was.
The truth is, not only did I hate my job, but I hated working period. I really wanted to quit my job, but I knew If I got a job somewhere else I would eventually hate it just as much, or possibly even more.

In all honesty I was really fed up with the whole concept of having to work almost every day for most of my life. I wanted to enjoy life! I wanted to enjoy time with my children on my terms!
I mean if you stop and think about it, the idea of working your life away is a ridiculous notion. We only have 1 life to live and we are expected to spend almost half of our waking hours at some job. Suffice it to say I had enough. My dream was to make money online on autopilot.
